I'm Melissa and I'm so happy you've stopped by.

I am a wellness coach, supporting and empowering the women I work with to become their best selves, while on my own health and fitness journey.

My story

After graduating college, I got a job at a large corporation that left me unfulfilled and crippled with self-doubt. I lived a patterned life, going through my days on auto-pilot, eating whatever I wanted with no regard for nutrition or how my lack of passion was affecting my physical and mental health. On top of my terrible eating habits, I was sedentary and sometimes would go weeks with my only physical activity being walking to and from my car/office/home. I would exercise for a few days every few months, if that. I was totally ignorant of what was happening on the inside and the outside.

Within five years, I gained 40 pounds. In 2014 I lost my mother, who was my best friend and my primary source of happiness. This tailspun me into a deeper depression than I was already in and led me to another 20 pound weight gain. This year, my inner badass finally challenged the voice inside my head that would tell me "you can't have it all" because I can and I will. I made the decision to commit to living with intention and becoming my best self.

self-care + self-awareness = self-love = YOUR BEST LIFE

I learned from my own wellness coach that self-care is not selfish. Self-care is necessary to improve every part of your life. Self-care comes in many forms, but the most basic ways are eating to nourish your body and moving your body

Living with intention starts with stepping out of your comfort zone -  that mindless, habitual state of unconsciousness - and being mindful. Self-awareness (aka personal development) can be cultivated and developed through meditation, prayer, journaling, reading self-help books, and surrounding yourself with people who believe in you and challenge you to be your best.

A few months ago, I went back to the basics and the basics are changing my life. I'm committed to helping other people realize that they too have the power to live a vibrant, fulfilled life!

A little bit [more] about me

When I'm not eating #allthefruits and #alltheveggies or working out, you can find me watching Forensic Files or Bravo, snuggling with my kitties, reading, watching Insta stories, or in the crowd enjoying the music while my fiance is on stage drumming. I love nature, pizza, dark chocolate, Cherry Garcia, beauty and skincare, getting crafty (especially with paper), and living in Georgia. I work as a marketing coordinator at a trade association.
